Today we’re announcing our new icon and brand logo, Pointy. We’re excited to share these changes and why we made them!
At the time, we weren’t thinking much about the impact of our logo and color scheme. Red might grab your attention, but it also tends to cause anxiety — the opposite of the calming feeling that our seamless scheduling solution was trying to provide.
In our last major rebrand, we dropped the red in favor of a more soothing blue. We also touched up the logo to include an arrow, which gave the feeling of movement and progression.
This logo has served us well, but over the years something interesting happened:
We’d love to think that this is another instance of “imitation is the best form of flattery”, but it turns out that clock with a checkmark is an incredibly popular concept. We knew that our next logo needed to be more memorable and have more personality.
Birds are a symbol of freedom, which is exactly what we want to provide you: the freedom to focus on your work without getting bogged down with tedious scheduling.
We also wanted to put a friendly face on our product because we realize that scheduling can be a frustrating experience, and we want you to know that there are friendly people behind the scenes here to help you.
But Pointy is more than just a friendly face, he’s a busy bird, just like you:
Looking back
It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since we first launched Appointlet. In that time you’ve scheduled millions of sales calls, tennis lessons, COVID vaccinations — and even the occasional psychic reading 🔮 . We’re incredibly proud of the role we’ve played in making it easier for you to meet. It goes without saying that a lot has changed in that time.
