Appointlet vs Acuity Scheduling: Which One Is Better in 2026?

Appointlet vs Acuity Scheduling

Somewhere in your inbox, there is a thread with a subject line like “Re: Re: Re: Tuesday?” It started as a simple request to book a call. Four days later, it has become a negotiation. You offered 2 pm, they countered with Thursday, you were at the dentist, and now nobody remembers what the meeting was for.

Scheduling software exists to end that thread. Appointlet and Acuity Scheduling are two of the tools people land on when they go looking, and they get compared a lot because they solve the same problem from different angles. Appointlet keeps booking simple and keeps the price low. Acuity builds a small client management system around the booking page and charges accordingly.

We make Appointlet, so you can guess where this ends up. We have used both tools properly, though, and we would rather you pick the right one than pick ours for the wrong reasons. Below, we cover how each tool works, how they differ, what they cost, and which one makes more sense for a small business in 2026.

How We Compared Appointlet and Acuity Scheduling

We compared them the way a small business owner would. That means asking:

  • whether there is a free plan
  • how long setup takes before the first client can book
  • what happens when someone forgets an appointment
  • how payment works
  • whether a small team can share one booking page
  • and whether a human answers when something breaks.

We build Appointlet, so we know it well. We have also spent enough time using Acuity to understand what it does best. This comparison comes from hands-on use of both products and their published pricing, not someone else’s feature list.

What is Appointlet?

Appointlet is online scheduling software for people who take appointments for a living. Consultants, coaches, clinics, salons, accountants, tutors, recruiters, sales teams, anyone who spends part of their week agreeing on a time with someone else. It has been around since 2012, and over 100,000 companies use it.

How does Appointlet work?

The way Appointlet works is simple. You connect your Google or Office 365 calendar, set the hours you want to be bookable, and get a link. Clients open the link, see only the times you are actually free, and pick one.

Appointlet adds the meeting to both calendars, sends the confirmation, generates a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link if the meeting is online, and sends a reminder before it starts. If someone needs to move the meeting, they do it themselves from the email, and your calendar updates.

What do you get on Appointlet’s free plan?

The free plan is the part most people notice first, mostly because it is not a trial in disguise. There is no credit card and no expiry date, and you can stay on it for as long as it does the job. It includes

  • Up to five team members and 25 meetings a month
  • One scheduling page with custom intake forms
  • Google and Office 365 calendar sync
  • Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex links generated for each meeting
  • Buffers between meetings and a cap on bookings per day
  • Clients cancelling or rescheduling themselves from the confirmation email
  • Collaborative hosting, user roles and permissions, and a Salesforce integration

A real person answers support on the free plan too, which is rare enough that we mention it every chance we get. New accounts also start with a 14-day trial of Premium, so you get to try everything before settling on free.

You can start free at appointlet.com and be taking bookings in a few minutes.

What do you get on Appointlet’s Premium plan?

Premium is $9 per member per month billed annually, or $12 month-to-month. It is the only plan most businesses will ever need, so there is no higher tier hiding the good stuff. It adds the things a business tends to want once bookings pick up

  • Unlimited meetings
  • Automated reminders before each appointment
  • Payment collection through Stripe or PayPal at the time of booking
  • Round robin booking so a team can share one page and split the work
  • Group sessions and classes
  • Manual approval of bookings and private meeting types
  • Zapier, webhooks and Google Tag Manager
  • Your own branding on the booking page instead of ours

Most solo users end up on free or a single $9 seat. Teams pay $9 a head and get the same things. There is an Enterprise option for larger organisations that need priority support, but that is a conversation rather than a price tag.

Who is Appointlet best for?

Appointlet works best for solo operators and small teams who want scheduling handled and would rather not learn a new system to get there. It is deliberately focused, which is a polite way of saying it does not try to be your CRM.

There are no prepaid packages, memberships or gift certificates, and there is no HIPAA plan. If your business runs on selling blocks of sessions up front, you will feel that gap, and we cover it honestly further down.

What is Acuity Scheduling?

Acuity Scheduling is appointment booking software owned by Squarespace. It does the same core job as Appointlet: a booking page connected to your calendar with reminders and payments, plus an added layer of client management. Clients can buy session packages, sign up for memberships, redeem gift certificates, and Acuity keeps a record of each person’s history with you.

How does Acuity Scheduling work?

Acuity works on a calendar model. Each staff member or location gets its own calendar, and the number of calendars you get depends on your plan. You connect your Google, Outlook, iCloud or Office 365 calendar, set up your appointment types and availability, and share a booking page or embed it on your website.

Clients pick a service, choose a time, fill in your intake form, and pay if you ask them to. Acuity confirms the booking, syncs it to your external calendar, sends reminders, and adds the client to its built-in client list.

What do you get on Acuity Scheduling’s free plan?

There is no free plan. You get a seven-day trial with no credit card, and then you choose from three paid tiers.

What do you get on Acuity Scheduling’s paid plans?

Acuity spreads its features across three plans, so what you get depends on what you pay.

  • Starter is $16 a month billed annually or $20 monthly. One calendar, payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo, email reminders, custom client forms and automatic time zone conversion.
  • Standard is $27 a month billed annually or $34 monthly. Up to six calendars, and this is where text reminders, appointment packages, memberships, gift certificates and a waitlist come in.
  • Premium is $49 a month billed annually or $61 monthly. Up to 36 calendars, an AI booking assistant, HIPAA compliance with a signed BAA, the option to hide the Acuity logo, multiple time zones for staff and locations, and custom API and CSS access.

What is the difference between Appointlet and Acuity Scheduling?

The difference comes down to what each tool is trying to be. Appointlet is a scheduling tool. Acuity is a scheduling tool that has grown into a client management system. That one difference explains almost everything else, including the price gap and the setup time.

Appointlet vs Acuity Scheduling: which one is better on features?

Both tools cover the basics well. The differences show up in how much you pay to get them and how much you have to learn along the way. Here is how they compare on the things that matter day to day.

Which one is easier to set up?

Appointlet. You connect a calendar, set your hours and availability, and share the link. Most people take their first booking within a few minutes of signing up, without reading a help article.

Acuity is not hard. It is just bigger. Before a client can book, you work through calendars, appointment types, availability controls, client forms and payment settings, and each of those screens has more options than the equivalent in Appointlet. That depth is useful if you need it. If you do not, it is time spent configuring a tool that was supposed to save you time.

Which one is better for reducing no-shows?

They are close, and Appointlet gets you there for less. The two things that actually cut no-shows are automated reminders and letting clients reschedule themselves, and both tools do both.

Appointlet includes email reminders, self-serve rescheduling and buffers between appointments on the $9 Premium plan, with text reminders available through Zapier. Acuity includes email reminders on all plans but holds text reminders for the $27 Standard plan.

If no-shows are the reason you are shopping, either tool will help. We have written about why clients keep missing appointments and the slightly counterintuitive case for making it easier to cancel, if you want to go deeper than reminders.

Which one handles payments better?

Both take payment at the point of booking. Appointlet connects to Stripe and PayPal on Premium. You set a price on any meeting type, choose your currency, and the client pays before the booking confirms. That covers paid consultations, salon and tattoo deposits, therapy sessions and coaching calls.

Acuity connects to Stripe, Square, PayPal and Venmo on every plan and goes further on the commerce side. It can sell prepaid packages with payment plans, memberships and gift certificates from the Standard plan up. If your revenue comes from bundles sold up front, Acuity does more here. If you charge per appointment, both tools do the job.

Which one is better for teams?

Appointlet for small teams, Acuity for large ones.

Appointlet’s free plan already covers up to five people on one booking page, including collaborative hosting where everyone must be free for a slot to show, user roles and permissions, and filtering by host. Premium adds round-robin distribution, so incoming bookings rotate across the team automatically.

Acuity charges per account, not per person. Starter is one calendar only, Standard covers up to six and Premium up to 36. A team of three pays about the same on either tool, $27 a month on annual billing. A team of twelve pays $108 a month on Appointlet and $49 on Acuity’s Premium plan, which is where flat pricing starts to win.

Which one has better integrations?

Both cover the essentials. Calendar sync with Google and Microsoft, video links for Zoom and Google Meet, website embeds, and Zapier for everything else.

Appointlet adds Microsoft Teams, Webex and GoToMeeting for video, a Salesforce integration on every plan, and Google Tag Manager and webhooks on Premium. You can see the full list on the integrations page.

Acuity adds iCloud calendar sync, Square and Venmo payments, a native fit with Squarespace websites, and API access on its top plan. If your site is on Squarespace, Acuity slots in more neatly. For everyone else, it is a draw.

Which one has better support?

Appointlet, and this is the one we are least modest about. A small team answers every support ticket, including the ones from free users.

Acuity includes customer service on all of its plans too, so this is not a case of one tool having support and the other not. The difference is that Appointlet gives you a person to talk to before you have paid anything. For a skeptical small business owner asking whether anyone will help when something breaks, that matters.

How much does Appointlet cost compared to Acuity Scheduling?

Appointlet costs $0 on the free plan or $9 per member per month on Premium billed annually, $12 if you pay monthly. Acuity costs $16 to $49 a month billed annually, or $20 to $61 if you pay monthly, with no free option.

AppointletAcuity Scheduling
Free$0, up to 5 membersNone
Entry paid plan$9 per member annually / $12 monthly, everything includedStarter, $16 annual / $20 monthly, 1 calendar
Mid planSame $9Standard, $27 annual / $34 monthly, up to 6 calendars
Top planSame $9Premium, $49 annual / $61 monthly, up to 36 calendars

The value question is less about the headline price and more about what you get for it. On Appointlet, $9 buys everything the product does. On Acuity, the $16 plan is the one people see advertised, but text reminders and packages live on the $27 plan, and hiding the Acuity logo on your booking page costs $49. For most businesses, the real starting price is higher than the one on the banner.

For a solo business or a team of two to five, Appointlet’s pricing works out cheaper almost every time. For a team of ten or more, Acuity’s flat account pricing becomes competitive and is worth the maths.

Who should choose Appointlet?

Choose Appointlet if

  • You run a small business or a team of up to about ten
  • You want clients to book without emailing back and forth
  • You would rather pay $0 or $9 than $16 to $49
  • You want a real person to answer when something breaks
  • You take appointments in person, online, or both

That covers consultants, coaches, clinics, dental and physio practices, salons, barbershops, tattoo studios, accountants, tutors and most sales and recruiting teams.

You can set up a free Appointlet account in a few minutes and take bookings today.

Who should choose Acuity Scheduling?

Choose Acuity Scheduling if

  • You sell prepaid packages or memberships
  • You need gift certificates or a waitlist
  • You need HIPAA compliance
  • Your team is large enough that flat pricing beats $9 a head

Which one is better in 2026, Appointlet or Acuity Scheduling?

Appointlet is the better choice for most small businesses in 2026.

  • It does the scheduling job as well as Acuity and takes minutes rather than an afternoon to set up
  • It has a free plan you can stay on indefinitely
  • The only paid plan costs $9 with nothing held back
  • Real human support is included on every plan, free included

Acuity is the better choice for a specific kind of business, one that sells sessions in bundles or needs HIPAA compliance, and we would not talk those businesses out of it.

If you are not that business, you can set up a free Appointlet account in a few minutes and take your first booking today. If you outgrow the free plan, Premium is $9, and by then you already know how everything works.

If Acuity wasn’t the only tool on your shortlist, we have also compared Appointlet with Cal.com and Setmore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Appointlet cheaper than Acuity Scheduling?

Yes. Appointlet has a free plan and a $9 per member per month Premium plan billed annually, or $12 month-to-month. Acuity has no free plan and starts at $16 a month billed annually. Text reminders and packages cost $27 a month or more on Acuity, and hiding Acuity’s logo costs $49 or more. Reminders and branding removal are both included in Appointlet Premium.

Can I switch from Acuity Scheduling to Appointlet?

Yes. There is no import tool, but there is not much to import. Connect your Google or Office 365 calendar, recreate your appointment types, set your hours and swap the booking link on your website and email signature. Existing bookings stay in your calendar. Most people finish in under an hour.

Does Appointlet work for in-person businesses like salons and clinics?

Yes. Appointlet handles in-person bookings the same way it handles video calls. You can collect deposits through Stripe or PayPal, send reminders, add intake questions, set buffers between appointments, and include a Google Maps link in the confirmation email so clients know where to go.

Which one is better for a solo business, Appointlet or Acuity Scheduling?

Appointlet, in most cases. A solo business gets everything it needs on the free plan or the $9 Premium plan, with real human support included. Acuity starts at $16 a month and holds back several useful features for the $27 and $49 plans. Pick Acuity only if you specifically need packages, memberships or gift certificates.

Full plan details are on the Appointlet features page.
